I know it’s only October, but if the last few months are any indication, Christmas will be here in no time at all – hence our theme this month – Heading into the Holidays. Because let’s face it, gifts made with love take time, so it’s best not to leave it too long to start! Not to mention we also need begin to craft for holiday decorating!
We have almost reached our magic number to make the NSW Crochet Retreat feasible—so I have mad a call to make it a definite for May 2024. Bookings will now be finalised. If you signed up and paid a deposit you should have received an email with further details and your payment schedule for the next instalment. If you were holding off to see if it was going ahead – now’s the time to book! We have just 20 spots left, so don’t delay.
This month we also feature our customer corner, where we feature what you have made with yarn and/or patterns you’ve purchased from us. There are some amazingly talented people out there – we don’t get to see them all, but we love what we do get to see. I hope you get inspiration from seeing these.
Our Annual Christmas Crochet Surprise will also be coming later this month – so keep an eye out!
As noted previously we have increased our prices of Scheepjes products. Unfortunately, our costs of purchasing and operating continue to increase, forcing us to review the price of our entire range of stock. We are phasing these in —increases will be made to the Fiddlesticks and Clover range from 1 November, with the remaining range of products having an increase on 1 December.
This month I will be taking two weeks off and leaving the store in the capable hands of Sheelagh and Sharon and my Mother who’s coming up to help out! At the moment, the hardest thing is determining which crochet projects to take with me – although my friend whom I’m going with assures me I will have no time to crochet! I am determined to prove her wrong. I can’t go on holidays without my crochet, as any true crocheter will know.
As I will be away for the beginning of October, our classes for this month will be BYOP. We won’t be hosting any online workshops this month. Come along and bring you own wips (works in progress), have a cuppa and snack, and chat with fellow crochet friends. Shaz and my Mum will be onboard to help you if you need assistance until I return. Tuesday mornings 9.30 – 11.30 or Wednesday evenings 5.30 – 7.30.
November we will be looking at mending the holes that appear in your crochet!
Our classes for 2024 have been decided, but we are still finalising the details to create the bookings, but take a peak at our Calendar to see what will be on offer.
Until next time
Lynda
It won’t be long now and Christmas will be here!
October for me is the beginning of the countdown for the number of days I have left to make all my gifts! I don’t want to start too early to miss out on all the fabulous new patterns and ideas that begin to emerge, but I don’t want to run out of time to make them. So October has become my magic date to begin. Because let’s face it, gifts made with love take time, so we need to allow that time rather than rush it all.
If you haven’t already started looking, this month we are here to help! Hand-made gifts are perfect for anyone – work colleagues, family, friends or even to donate to the many charities out there are support those who need a hand to make their Christmas special too.
There are many pattern books and individual patterns featuring fabulous gift ideas that are great for secret santas, donating or for the special people in your life. We feature just a few of these below. When you get your books, don’t forget your yarn!
We also have a wonderful range of kits that include the pattern and yarn to make just one gift.
For the adults – ideas include plant hangers, hat holsters, bags and purses, other household goodies, scarves, wraps and more.
For the kids – try your hand at toys, fun rugs, dolls clothes, and other playful items.
And don’t forget the pets!
When thinking about your fellow crocheters – who doesn’t need to add to their tools or pick up a new project? Buy them one of our fabulous kits to make for themselves, or any one of our accessories – chart keepers, yarn bowls, no mess yarn bags, project bags, hook cases, crafting lights, hooks, shuttles, knitting needles – and the list goes on. If you are stuck choosing which one, take a look at our accessories kits.
