New Leather Doctor – Wellington

Please welcome our newest Leather Doctor to our New Zealand team – Erika. Erika will operate the Wellington territory on the North Island.

We spoke to Erika about her reasons for joining The Leather Doctor and what she hopes to achieve with the business.

Here’s what she had to say…

What was it that attracted you to join The Leather Doctor business?
I learnt all about the business through my sister, Jodie, who is the
Timber Doctor on the Gold Coast (Australia).

I was ready for a change in career and this opportunity came about while I was visiting her from New Zealand.  The idea of a franchise business and to belonging to a family community who will support me as I grow my business and to be my own boss was really appealing.

What did you do prior to becoming a Leather Doctor?
I have been a stay at home mum with my third and last child for the past 20 months after a 16 year gap! I’ve been a registered nurse for the
past 20 years and have been designing and sewing my own baby accessories on the side for the past 14 years.

What territory will you manage?
I have purchased the Wellington territory, the capital of New Zealand. 

What do you hope to achieve during your time as a Leather Doctor?
To continue to love learning and enjoy meeting people while belonging to an amazing family community.

I would love to own more than one territory and also to add the Timber Doctor to those territories. Continual growth and development as a technician is a must as well as being able to have more earning potential.

What was it about The Leather Doctor franchise that appealed to you (so that you purchased)?
The ‘potential’ it offers with such a supportive franchise is unbeatable!

What advice would you give to someone looking to purchase a franchise?
Do it, Do it right, Do it right NOW!!

I’m left handed, always up for an adventure and LOVE a good laugh

Describe your ideal weekend?
Fun in the sun and water with family OR jump on a plane for a surprise weekend away somewhere!
